Pet Portraits by Lori Levin
Lori has always had a close bond with animals and has surrounded herself with them; she currently uses them as the subjects of her art and is well known for her pet portraits. Her pieces are realistic and exquisitely detailed; yet they still retain an impressionistic flair - graphite and traditional oil paints are her mediums of choice.
Lori was the cover artist for the April 2002 and August 2003 issues of the "Equine Marketer" and was featured in the July 2001 edition of the "Horse News." She was one of six artists chosen for a special "canine art" exhibition at Sagemore Gallery in Ocean City, NJ, benefiting the Humane Society. Lori's ability to capture the soul of her subject is apparent in her dog portraits.
Lori was selected as the feature artist for Canine Partners for Life's 10th wine auction where her painting "Ripening Fruits" raised $2,700 for their organization. Currently, her work is exhibited at First Impressions Gallery in Salem, NJ, des Champs Gallery in Lambertville, NJ and is registered with The American Kennel Club Museum of the Dog. She is well known for her work and has completed many private commissions. She is currently accepting commissions for horse portraits and pet portraits in oil or graphite.
