5% of the artist’s fee will be donated to The National Disaster Search Dog Foundation. It costs up to $10,000 to train one FEMA-certified search and rescue dog. When you commission a portrait, you not only receive a beautiful piece of timeless artwork but you support the important partnership between animals and man.
While there are so many worthy charities to support, The National Disaster Search Dog Foundation (NDSDF) represents the current need in our society to connect with others and animals during a time plagued by natural disasters and man-made tragedies. It brings to awareness that animals play such a huge role in our lives as partners, not just as pets. They are a divine gift to be cherished. Nothing proves that more than the search dogs that worked fearlessly and tirelessly for their human partners trying to recover victims of the 9/11 tragedy. Please visit www.SearchDogsUSA.org to better understand the rescue effort of the NDSDF dogs and their human partners after the Attack on America.
Animals are willing and loyal partners, happy to do difficult tasks just to please. Animals are capable of doing jobs that even today’s best technology cannot accomplish. They can lower our blood pressure and bring out our softer side. They make us smile. Animals can save people. We can rescue animals. This organization does just that. Dogs that may otherwise be forgotten in a shelter are given a chance to shine. It is a “win-win” situation for everyone.
Thank you for supporting me in my goal to “buy a $10,000 dog”.
